Racemenu skyrim

About This File

This is a RaceMenu plugin that adds SAM morphs without using any of SAM's scripts.  It's mainly intended to add SAM morphing features to SE, but a version for Oldrim is also provided.

Using armor refits for SAM is highly recommended.  For SE users, the refits must be converted to SE format using NIF Optimizer.

RaceMenu SE 0.2.4+ requires .tri morphs to be using the newer format exported by Outfit Studio.

Main Features

  • Body Morphs for different body types
  • Texture selection for custom textures
  • Body hair overlays for extra body hair control
  • BodyGen Morphs for diverse body types on all male NPC's based on class (optional)

Body Morphs

  • Samson/Samuel morphs with a toggle for skeleton scaling
  • Genital morphs based on SAM genital bones scaling formula
  • Foreskin morph to toggle foreskin
  • Individual bone scaling used in Samson/Samuel morphs for finer tuning
  • Genital skeleton scaling for compatiblity with genital accessories

Texture Selection(SAM Light only, textures not included)

  • Swap to different diffuse, normal, and specular maps for the body, hands, and feet*
  • Requires refits with body parts correctly named for SAM (SAMBody, SAMHands, SAMFeet, SAMGenitals, SAMForeskin)
  • Textures follow the naming convention BaseName_xx.dds (diffuse), BaseName_xx_msn.dds (normal), BaseName_xx_s.dds (specular) where xx ranges from 01 to 10
    • For example, base texture malebody_1.dds would be named malebody_01.dds, malebody_02.dds, malebody_03.dds, etc.
  • Feet textures have the BaseName of MaleFeet (default races), ArgonianMaleFeet (Argonian), and FeetMale (Khajiit)

*feet uses body texture by default

Three custom spells are automatically added under Powers.

  • SAM Morphs (Self)*
    • Opens a minimal version of RaceMenu on the player character
  • SAM Morphs (Target)*
    • Opens a minimal version of RaceMenu on the target character
  • SAM Textures Config
    • Configures setting for feet texture mode and resets texture overrides

*requires UIExtensions

*not required, but SAM assets are required in some type of setup (like SOS).  SAM scripts/.esp/.dll are not used.
**only required for editing morphs on NPC's

Manual Installation

  • 00 Textures for overlays
  • 01 Base mod for either Oldrim or SE
  • 02 BodyGen morphs (1 for basic setup, 2 for overrides from other mods) (optional)
  • 03 Genital Morphs if not using SAM Light (optional)

  • Foreskin morph requires SAM Light "un-cut" option during installation.
  • BodyGen for RaceMenu SE can make the game unstable based on individual setups.
  • BodyGen morphs are saved in the SKSE co-save alongside the game save.  NetImmerse Override Cleaner can be used to remove the morph data in Oldrim saves.  I'm not aware of any equivalent tool for SE.
  • Body hair overlay only applies to the main body mesh, not the genitals.  This is due to how the overlay system was designed.
  • RaceMenu for NPC's will show them in a T-pose during slider changes.  This is intentional and required when updating skeleton scaling since the game is paused.  NPC will resume animations once the menu is closed.
  • Genital morphs don't use genital skeleton scaling and are intended for BodyGen randomization.
  • If used alongside the full SAM, the morphs and scaling are not synchronized and will add on top of each other.

  • expired6978 for RaceMenu and UIExtensions
  • Vector for the creation of Shape Atlas for Men

What's New in Version 1.0.5   See changelog

  • added cloaking ability to reapply custom textures to affected NPC's in range.  Cloak is only active when at least one NPC is using custom textures.  Use SAM Morphs (Self) or SAM Morphs (Target) spell at least once to enable effect in existing game.

Enhanced Character Edit[http://skyrimshot.blog.fc2.com/blog-entry-22.html]

Today we have a battle between two great mods. On one corner, RaceMenu, a mod that adapts the character creation menu to better fit the PC interface like mods such as SkyUI. The other corner we have Enhanced Character Edit, a mod that adds A LOT more sliders to the character creation menu. Heaven or Hell, LET'S ROCK!

+ Automatically fixes the issue where in vanilla Skyrim, some character settings/sliders get reset
+ Allows you to combine warpaints
+++ More PC friendly interface
+ Filter options by name
+++ Works with any race, including custom races
+ Zooms closer to the face when setting facial sliders
+ Adds zoom/light feature to see better
+ Extended color options
+ More detailed Race descriptions

- No new sliders, just vanilla morphs which means less variations almost like vanilla
- Cannot save presets
- Some sliders may not stay on their correct positions when re-entering the character creation menu again

Enhanced Character Edit
+++ A LOT of new sliders which equals more extensive character creation
+++ Allows you to save multiple presets that you can load at any time
+ Extended color options
+ Adds multiple light settings and a zooming feature to see better
+ Adds new face parts for mouth, eyes, brows, and so on
+ Sliders may reset, but thanks to being able to save presets, you can work around that issue

- May not work properly with custom races
- Zoom feature isn't as good as RaceMenu (use FOV console commands as a workaround)
- Still uses vanilla interface, with some edits

ECE 0.9k has two versions. One is adapated for YgNord. It's the one below.

I just changed my personal arsenal to fifteen Metal Gear Ray...... And I'm looking for a target. Who wants to be one? You?

I installed ECE (0.86 from the Nexus.) last night, not fiddled yet, will report back.

RaceMenu MUST add some new sliders though, as currently I have options for individual breasts and a couple of others im CERTAIN aren't vanilla... I could be mistaken, but I defo have extra sliders from somewhere.

ARGH! Someone gave me some goggles and a spork.
I don't know what the goggles do, but I'm gouging my eyes out with the spork!

Do these mods add anything if you play as a male? Never really bothered with it since all I see (from the description at least) are sliders/enhancements for female body parts.

If it's all civilized, you're doing it wrong.

Works for males. Some are female exclusive though.

None of these mods have any effect on gameplay. They're both used typically only by people who mod their game to make their characters look pretty.

Your point is?

For me, it din't add mny sliders or option, just replaced some.
And it ( or probs the included Ren morph files) HIDEOUSLY deformed my characters current face. EUGH!

Would be different on a new character I guess, but it din't impress me enough to trust trying it over Racemenu on another playthrough.

Racemenu is a powerful character creation extension mod that allows you to sculpt your characters in an insanely detailed way. You can also export your presets as well as import either your own, or other player’s presets that they’ve posted on websites such as NexusMods.

Download Racemenu for Skyrim SE and follow my guide on how to install mods in Skyrim.

If you’re using Skyrim LE (Legendary Edition), then this is the version that you want.

This mod requires SKSE so make sure you check out my SKSE installation guide as well.

racemenu error 10

Skyrim is a game known for many things. Back when it first came out, these things included the great story which the game offers along with the rich and revolutionary open world as well as RPG mechanics that the game offered.

While it is still known for these things, it’s also known for much more. For example, customization is one of the biggest bonuses of playing Skyrim. This doesn’t just refer to the character customization options that the game provides; it also refers to modding. The Skyrim modding community is still easily one of the liveliest and popular ones.

There are a lot of mods, those that customize the game by changing environments, those that customize the game by adding new weapons, and many more of the sort, including those that customize the game by changing the customization options themselves.

One example of this is the RaceMenu mod which provides new options for character creation/customization. While trying to use this mod, some users might encounter the RaceMenu error 10. We’re here to show how to solve said error by using the solutions listed below.

Fixes for RaceMenu Error 10

  1. Update RaceMenu

The first recommended solution is one of the most obvious, but also easily one of the most effective ones of them all. This refers to updating RaceMenu. The mod actively has new updates released for it every now and then. These updates can either act new content, fix issues with current versions or do both at the same time. So this specific issue you’re encountering should easily be fixable by just updating the mod.

Just like the base mod itself, all of these updates are available to players completely free of any charges and can be found online on official sites related to said mod. Just look it up through any browser of choice. It is recommended that users spend some time in forums and/or other official pages of the sort to learn more about said updates, including if there even is one in the first place.

  1. Delete Other Mods

One other good solution which we recommend trying is removing all other mods which you’re using along with this one. There are many known occurrences of modifications causing troubles for other ones in Skyrim, which is why running only RaceMenu with every other mod you have disabled might be an effective solution.

Just use whatever launcher it is that players use to remove every add on for the game before specifically adding only RaceMenu back. Now run the game again to see if it works without presenting this error message again. Here are a couple of other solutions worth trying if the ones mentioned so far didn’t work out too well.

  1. Delete/Rename File

There is one solution in particular that works for a majority of people encountering this issue who weren’t able to fix it through the methods listed so far. There is a specific file in all of the various folders related to RaceMenu, and some of these files are actually much more detrimental to the mod’s performance rather than being helpful in any way. One in particular which tends to mess with the program a lot is chargen.pex.

Try to locate this file in the data/scrips directory of your Skyrim mods. It should be there somewhere, and using the Windows file locating feature will prove very useful since users won’t have to go through each individual folder just to find the specific one.

Once located, just delete this file permanently. Alternatively, for those that are cautious about removing any kind of files from the system, there’s the option to rename the file too. We recommend renaming it to something among the lines of chargen.pex.old.

  1. Reinstall RaceMenu

RaceMenu is very problematic when it comes to installation. If all else up to this point has failed, it’s very likely that the way users installed the mod was wrong from the start. Just uninstall it and attempt to reinstall it, but this time make sure to follow the user manual for installation word for word. Once downloaded again, any issues with the mod will be solved.

This post lists down the best Skyrim Racemenu mods for PC, Xbox One and PS4.

Skyrim starts with an interesting opening sequence of the carriage ride to Helgen where you are prompted to build your character. By using a racemenu, you can select your race, build, facial features, gender and a few other attributes to build your character and follow his faith throughout the game.

But do you ever wish you could rebuild your character or change some of their attributes at any point in the game? Do you ever wish that you could pop that race menu up any time and change your fate? Do you ever wish that you had more options in the racemenu to build your character? If you do, I’ve got you covered my friend!

This post features a list of Skyrim Racemenu mods that you can pop up to build an interesting character. I’ve also added a mod that you can install to access the racemenu anytime in the middle of the game! So let’s get to it, shall we?

List of Top Skyrim Racemenu Mods

Race Menu Any Time

Race Menu Any Time in Skyrim is a racemenu mod for PS4 that lets you access the race menu anytime you want! How, you ask? Well, you will find a strongbox in Farengar’s office sitting on a bookshelf above the two goblets. In that lucky box, you will find 50 special gems called the Gems of Destiny, enchanted with mysterious magic.

So what you gotta do is just drop one of these and a race menu will appear on your screen. Remake your character and pick your desired race, sex, build, facial features and even a new identity. Voila! You have rebuilt your character from scratch.

After the gems have been dropped, they are gone forever. Use the remaining gems to rebuild your character any time you like! However, do not drop all of them at once as you will lose them forever.

If you are wondering whether there’s a way to refill the box after you have used up all of the gems, there is a hack! Just save your game, disable the mod, save the game again and re-enable the mod to find the box filled again. Cool, right? Get this racemenu mod for PS4 now from the link below. This mod is not available for Xbox One or PC currently.

As you can guess from its name, the RaceMenu mod for Oldrim and Skyrim Special Edition overhauls the entire race menu. As a result, you will now have the option to customize the features of your character. For instance, there are new body paints, hand paints, RGBA warpaints and many other options to pick for your character. However, you will be needing SKSE to run this mod.

Skyrim RaceMenu Mod Not Working?

So you have just installed Skyrim RaceMenu mod and it’s not working. What to do? Well, the reason might be a mod overwriting the interface folder in SKSE. Moreover, move the mod in a lower load order and see if it works.

If it still doesn’t fix the issue, it might be that the Racemenu plugin is disabled. In the “Plugins” section of Vortex, enable the Racemenu plugin and the mod will work now!

Cheat Room

If you are looking for a Skyrim racemenu mod for Xbox One, Cheat Room is your best bet. Cheat Room for Xbox One and PC is basically a room created for cheating. This is a vast mod that does not change anything in the original game.

You can find the room by installing the mod first which adds the spells in your magic menu under alteration. Use them to teleport to this room. With this mod in your list, you can change your character’s appearance, height and basically everything else in the game to your liking. So get this Skyrim SE cheat mod now to avoid playing by the rules.

Skyrim Racemenu Console Command

If you have a PC, you can also use console commands in Skyrim for Racemenu. Just open the console, enter the command showracemenu and you will be able to alter your character. However, do note that resetting the race would also reset your skills, health, magicka and stamina levels. Moreover, after you have made the changes and picked a name, the temporary active effects will be removed.

To Conclude . . .

These are all the best racemenu mods in Skyrim that you can use to remake your character the way you want! Download now to transform your character anytime in the game.
