An enchanted necklace.

Digsite pendant detail.png

A Digsite pendant is a ruby necklace that has been enchanted using the Lvl-3 Enchant spell. It requires the completion of The Dig Site quest to make or use.

Unlike most gold jewellery, this necklace cannot be enchanted until the spell has been learned from one of the archeologists cleaning finds in the museum.

To learn how to enchant a ruby necklace, a player must first participate in cleaning uncleaned finds until a clean necklace is found in the sample, and the chance of finding the necklace is 1/51. When brought to any of the archaeologists in the Digsite cleaning event, the archaeologist will teach the player how to replicate the enchantment spell.

Note: The clean necklace will be removed from your inventory after talking to one of the archeologists.

When enchanted, the pendant can be used to teleport to the north of the Digsite, west of the Digsite barge. The number of charges on an individual pendant is suffixed to the item's name. For example, an unused pendant is named "Digsite pendant (5)". When all five teleports have been used, the pendant will crumble away. Players could cast High Level Alchemy on it when only 1 charge is left to minimise costs.

Once the quest Bone Voyage has been completed, a pendant of any amount of charges can be used on the strange machine (the one displaying a book with symbols) at the House on the Hill, north of the Museum Camp in Fossil Island. The pendant, along with future Digsite pendants used, will gain an extra teleport option to the House on the Hill. Once Dragon Slayer II has been completed, a teleport to Lithkren can be unlocked by using a Digsite pendant on the strange machinery north of the Rune dragons. Each teleport option can also be unbound by using the pendant on the machine again.

Digsite pendant detail.png

A digsite pendant is a Ruby necklace that has been enchanted using the Enchant Level 3 Jewellery spell. It requires the completion of The Dig Site quest to make or use. This item cannot be sold at the Grand Exchange.

Unlike most gold jewellery, this necklace cannot be enchanted until the spell has been learned from one of the archaeologists cleaning finds in the museum. To learn how to enchant a Ruby necklace, a player must first participate in cleaning uncleaned finds until a Clean necklace is found in the sample.

Finding a clean necklace is somewhat rare and may take a while (expect to clean between 10 and 100 samples in order to get the necklace, although sometimes it can take as many as 500 samples). Players must then talk to one of the archaeologists cleaning finds in the museum. They will then teach the player how to enchant the necklace to make a Digsite pendant.

When enchanted, the pendant can be used to teleport to 3 locations: the north end of the Digsite, north of the outermost fence, near the middle of the dig site with the Senntisten teleport option, or the Exam Centre, to the south of the digsite. The number of charges on an individual pendant is suffixed to the item's name. For example, an unused pendant is named "Digsite pendant (5)". When all five teleports have been used, the pendant will crumble away. Players could cast High Level Alchemy on it when only 1 charge is left to minimise costs.

It currently costs 722.8 coins for each teleport, assuming a staff of fire or equivalent is used for the enchantment.

This pendant is very useful for players wishing to quickly swap their prayers to Ancient Curses (after completing The Temple at Senntisten), as it allows quick access to the temple, while being easy to replace and mass-produce.

The pendant is also used in a medium Varrock Task.

Digsite pendant help

Quick find code: 17-18-250-66165440

I have been cleaning samples in Varrok museum looking for the clean necklace to make the digsite pendant for 4.5 hours of game time- is this normal?!?

I am concerned there may be a glitch with my account. The only info I could find online said it should take around 45 mins. I read the odds are 1/50 but surely I should have got it by now? What if I am just so unlucky I never get it?

The whole task is tedious and unrewarding and really needs an update!

Yikes!!

I know that you can now use the archaeology book to teleport to dig site.

Not sure if having that addition changed anything about the dig site pendant :|
Hope the Arch book is an alternative you can use!

Good luck!

Normal from what I can gather. Spent 2.5hrs on mine.
The low rng chance is likely due to it being a important teleport pre Arch.

Don't put much stock in not obtaining it. Afk the cleaning.
Won't be long before Jagex just gives us all a any grid teleport with 0 cost.
I spend more time nickle and dimeing myself with what TP to use, then actually saved these days.

If ya reading this staff. Stop pandering to Lazyscape. In the membrane.

Trewavassaid:
I do not think you're at fault here, and I do not believe that your account is being affected by a bug. The chance of finding the pendant is one of the many things in this game that's heavily reliant on RNG, and it's not uncommon for players to go several hours without finding one.

Make sure you haven't already found one, as you might have already found one and learned the enchant spell. You could try enchanting a ruby necklace, to see if it works.

If that isn't the case, keep trying. Hopefully, you'll find one soon.

Pendant digsite

Old School Runescape - Digsite Pendant Guide - Fossil Island Teleport

The Digsite Pendant is an enchanted Ruby necklace which can be unlocked at Varrock museum, in the specimen area. Digsite pendant allows you to teleport straight to The Digsite area and it also can be linked to Fossil Island, once you complete Bonevoyage quest. After completing Dragonslayer II quest at Lithkren, just north of Rune Dragons, you will gain one additional teleport item.

Once Ruby necklace is enchanted, it turns to Digsite pendant, but when all 5 charges are used, the necklace will crumble to dust.

Unlocking Αbility to Εnchant Ruby Νecklace

For this part, you need to complete The Digsite quest at Varrock museum. Right after you have completed The Digsite quest, you can enter specimen area that’s where most of the action will take place.

OSRS, Varrock Museum

OSRS, Varrock Museum

When you are inside, in front of the entrance you will find hanging all the equipment and tools you will need. Pick it up, equip leather gloves and boots it is must to search for specimen rocks.

OSRS, Pile of Specimen Rocks at Varrock Museum

OSRS, Pile of Specimen Rocks at Varrock Museum

On the right of the entrance, to specimen area, you will find piles of specimen rocks, that’s where you will need to fill your inventory with unclean findings.

OSRS, Specimen Table

OSRS, Specimen Table

Once you have at least one unclean finding in your inventory, click on the specimen table to clean the findings.
You will find various things, but what you are looking for is the “Clean” Necklace. The chance is 1/51 to get it, so it will most likely take more than one try.

IMPORTANT NOTE

You will find 5 more useful things to put in the display for Kudos, once you find any of the following items just show them to the guys sitting at the table next to specimen rocks.

These items are:

Pottery – display 22
Old Symbol – display 26
Ancient Symbol – display 37
Old Coin – display 45
Ancient Coin – display 44
The case displays are just outside of the specimen, inside the Varrock museum.

Once you already find the “Clean” necklace, show it to one of the NPC’s next to specimen rocks. They will identify the item and you will unlock the ability to enchant the Ruby necklace.

The spell requires Lv 49 Magic. Lv-3 Enchant spell needs 1 Cosmic rune and 5 Fire runes.

When the spell is used on Ruby necklace, it will turn it to Digsite Pendant. Now you can rub it to teleport to The Digsite, next to transportation ship of Fossil Island.

Binding Digsite Pendant to Fossil island

For this part, you need to complete the Bonevoyage quest. Speak to the Guard next to the shiporjust right-click on him and choose Quick travel. You will be instantly teleported to Fossil Island.

North-west, there is House on the hill where you can bind your Digsite pendant to teleport you straight to Fossil Island.

When you get there on the 2nd floor (1st floor, UK) you will find a giant book(strange machine) on the southern wall, right-click on the pendant and use on the book to bind it to this place.

After you have completed these steps, you rub your Digsite pendant and it will give you two options to teleport:

1. Digsite
2. Fossil island

When 2nd option is chosen, you will be teleported to Fossil island, house on the hill.

You can check our video guide on how to unlock the necklace and how to bind it to Fossil Island below.
