Detailed Product Description
Clarity Hydraulic Oils AW 46 are formulated with premium base oil technology and an ashless (“zinc-free”) additive system that provides exceptional oxidation stability, water separability, foam suppression, and protection against wear, rust and corrosion. They are designed to meet or exceed the performance requirements of conventional antiwear hydraulic oils, especially in severe, high-output applications such as axial piston pumps. The antiwear performance of these oils makes them especially suited for high performance industrial applications utilizing axial piston pumps where pressures may exceed 5000 psi.
APPLICATIONS
Clarity Hydraulic Oils AW are designed for use in mobile and stationary hydraulic vane-, piston-, and gear-type pumps.
Clarity Hydraulic Oils AW have shown excellent performance in applications involving servo-valves using multimetal components.
Clarity Hydraulic Oils AW meet the requirements of:
- ASTM D6158 HM (ISO 32, 46, 68), HV (ISO 100)
- Denison HF-0, HF-2 testing requirements of T5D (ISO 32, 46, 68)
- DIN 51524-2 (ISO 32, 46, 68)
- DIN 51524-3 (ISO 100)
- Eaton-Vickers for use in M-2950-S (mobile) and I-286-S (stationary) hydraulic systems. Passes Eaton-Vickers 35VQ25 pump test. (ISO 32, 46, 68)
- ISO 11158 L-HV (ISO 100)
- Fives Cincinnati (formerly MAG Cincinnati, Cin Machine, Cin Milacron) P-68 (ISO 32), P-70 (ISO 46), P-69 (ISO 68)
The AW 46 Hydraulic Oil Specifications
AW 46 hydraulic oil is high-quality oil suitable for many industrial and mobile uses, including boats, elevators, pneumatic tools, construction equipment and winches. It has some advanced engineered properties that protect against rust and corrosion. The hydraulic oil is also resistant to foaming, which causes poor, slow hydraulic system response.
Specific Gravity and Density
Specific gravity is the ratio of a liquid's density to the density of water. AW 46 hydraulic oil's specific gravity is 0.868. Its density is 7.23 lbs per gallon.
Flash Point
A liquid's flash point is the lowest temperature it begins to vaporize and mix with air to create an ignitable mixture. AW 46's flash point is 227 degrees Celsius, which is 441 degrees Fahrenheit.
Viscosity
The viscosity of a liquid is a measure of how thick it is and it depends on temperature. Manufacturers generally measure viscosity in centistokes (cSt). At 40 degrees Celsius, AW 46's viscosity is 46 cSt, giving it its name. At 100 degrees Celsius, its viscosity thins out to 6.8 cSt.
Further Properties
AW 46 hydraulic oil's viscosity number is exactly 100. Its acid number is 0.38. Last, it is 0.043 percent zinc by weight.

Hydraulic oil specs iso 46
Hydraulic Oil ISO 46
Hydraulic Oil ISO 46 is exceptional quality, top achievement hydraulic oil developed to accommodated the appeal for environmentally acceptable hydraulic fluids. This product is based on synthetic, readily biodegradable esters. A high-performance, carefully selected additive package gives excellent anti-wear and extreme pressure properties as well as good thermal stability and corrosion protection. Inherently strong oxidation resistance anticipate gumming and drop accumulation at top temperatures. Because of the high natural VI of the base fluid and low pour point, the viscosity temperature behavior allows for a very wide operating temperature range.
Hydraulic Oil 46 is recommended where there could be accidental fluid loss into the environment or where surface water contamination should be avoided.Application areas cover industrial, forestry and abyssal and decidedly in adaptable equipment. This can cover decay baptize analysis plants, reservoirs, waterways, parkland, drilling, backwoods machines, dredgers, river sluices and agriculture machines, etc. On ships, applications could cover bow thrusters, , propeller systems and deck machinery.
Applications :
Hydraulic Oil ISO 46 is also suitable for use in the power and energy industry, particularly in wind turbine applications. There are some special handling procedures with the Hydraulic Oil series. Hydraulic Oil series is fully miscible with mineral oil based hydraulic oils, its biodegradability will be minimized if the two product types are mixed. It is always recommended to test for miscibility. Residual quantities of mineral oil should be kept at a minimum. Furthermore, paint finishes should be on 2 part epoxy system. Metals such as zinc and tin should be avoided wherever possible. The cleaning effect of these fluids can dislodge large amounts of dirt, which can shorten filter life.
