Solstice Dentist Provider

Accepting Solstice dental plans. Common services include cleaning, check-ups, crowns, bridge, root canal, extraction, dentures, fillings, and sedation.

There are several types of dental solstice plans available, each offering unique coverage on dental procedures, and types of services that are covered.

Solstice plans have an open-access network. There is no need to select a primary dentist or be assigned to an office roster! It’s important to identify the levels of coverage you will see in your plan options. In our dental office, most of our Solstice patients have Solstice PPO plan.

Solstice - Dental Coverage

Services covered under preventive Solstice care include routine dental check-ups, teeth cleanings, x-rays and other preventive treatment.

Restorative Dentistry covers services to treat cavities. Common services include procedures to restore damaged teeth, fillings, bridges, crowns, veneers and inlays.

Major Restorative Dentistry covers major dental procedures including the replacement of missing natural teeth with dentures or bridges, and the repair of severely decayed or fractured teeth. Depending on your plan, oral surgery procedures may be covered.

Solstice co-pays and specific coverage does vary by plan, so please refer to your schedule of benefits to fully understand your exact level of coverage.

Solstice - Plans Type.

Solstice dental plans are set up similarly to medical plans. Most have a network of contracted dentists, also known as in-network dentists. Your choice of dentist providers and your out-of-pocket costs will depend on the plan type you have.

Members receive care from the dentist of their choice, and your co-payment at the dentist office are based on a fee for each service rendered.

Solstice Plus Plan One

A discount dental plan with set member fees as well as additional discounts. You’ll save about 30% off dental fees.

• A routine cleaning per year provided at no charge
• A topical application of fluoride for children at no charge.
• Discounts on all procedures done by a general dentist
• Discounts on all procedures done by a specialist

Solstice Plus Plan Two

A discount dental plan with set member fees as well as additional discounts. You’ll save about 15% off dental fees

• Discounts on general and specialty procedures
• Cosmetic treatment at a 25% discount

Dr. Kamdar began his dental career at Nair Hospital and Dental College in Bombay, India, earning his BDS (Bachelor in Dental Surgery) there in 1971. Spending one year interning at his alma mater in both the Departments of Operative Dentistry and Pedodontics, he then passed the National Board and New York State Board Exams, earning his New York State License as a General Dentist in 1975. He went to work at Laguardia Hospital for the IV Team before becoming an Associate and practicing General Dentistry with Dr. Israel and Dr. Kirshen in the Bronx and later began his own private practice in Massapequa, New York. He became a dentist to help patients restore their smile and tooth function, because he feels it is a very gratifying goal to achieve. In 1981 Dr. Kamdar became owner of Preferred Dental Associates, practicing General Dentistry full time, building a successful practice which continues to this day. He also continues his education, plays golf and tennis and enjoys studying management courses. A particular joy Dr. Kamdar relishes in is helping struggling students with their tuition, books, and housing needs in his native India.

Dentistry is an amazing profession permitting me to be both a healer and an artist. Growing up in St. Petersburg, the cultural center of Russia, has greatly influenced my perception of what is considered attractive.Beauty, then, is neither a trend nor perfection, but a balanced set of characteristics, making each of us unique. As a dentist, it became my goal to recreate and restore it seamlessly. I am an open book to my friends, students, colleagues as well as patients and believe that every encounter with a human being can be an opportunity to learn something. I am, therefore, always a student myself and aspire to be better each day. What I have learned so far is that there is nothing impossible as long as I dare to reach for it. My patients’ gratitude humbles me; their trust in my ability and talent is what makes me being a dentist a true privilege.”

Dr. Pauline Pham is a general dentist at Coliseum Dental. Originally from Northern California, she came to New York to receive her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from NYU College of Dentistry. During dental school, she served as a peer tutor for all science courses and a teaching assistant to help other students develop their clinical dentistry skills. Dr. Pham graduated in the top ten percent of her class and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a dental honors society. She also received the Dr. Bernard E. Rudner Memorial Award for superior performance as a senior. Dr. Pham then completed a general practice residency at NYU Langone in Brooklyn which is a level one trauma center. There she received the “Excellence in the Oral Surgery” The Annual Anthony L. DiMango Award. Dr. Pham prides herself on always having open and honest conversations with her patients regarding their oral health. Every patient has different needs and she will collaborate with the patient to ensure that they are happy with the dental care she provides. She believes in conservative dentistry and stresses the importance of disease prevention through patient education. All of Dr. Pham’s patients compliment her on her gentle touch and calm demeanor which makes their dental visits much more enjoyable. In her free time, you can find Dr. Pham cooking up exotic dishes, searching the city for new places to see, or singing off key to 90s music.

Chase Thompson, D.D.S. joined the Village Dental Medicine team as an associate general dentist in 2021. He is an alum of New York University’s College of Dentistry where he developed his passion for problem-solving, patient-centered care, and clinical excellence. Holding certification with Invisalign© and special training with Cerec© and iTero© 3D-digital imaging, Dr. Thompson has embraced the contributions technology and digital innovation have made to the field of dentistry, while daily refining the handmade craftsmanship and artistry that has always a part of the profession. Dr. Thompson performs Botox© Injections for the treatment of TMJ disorders, and to address the esthetics of aging. A native of Arizona, Dr. Thompson was first a student of music, relocating to New York City to begin a career as a manager for opera singers, stage directors, instrumentalists and conductors. He operated the US division of a London-based agency for a time, before transitioning to a clinician and oral healthcare provider. Dr. Thompson has felt truly rewarded by his years of patient care which followed and has come to feel especially drawn and committed to the idea of restoration -- whether it is renovating his NYC apartment, rehabbing a vintage flea market find, or rebuilding his patients’ dentition, his core belief is that each has the right to be restored to look and function at its best.
