The room we had was in very dire need of updating, so I checked for bedbugs, but there was no sign of them. It was clean, though, so if all you want is a place to sleep & shower in the morning it is fine. It was confusing to find our building in the dark - lit up numbers would have helped a lot as buildings are not all in a straight row. The hot tub was tepid (not safe to use as bacteria would grow happily) and the pool was cold. The bed and pillows were very hard. The toilet was very low, as was the tub, which also had some rust on it. as well as the sink. The bathroom door was very chipped all along the bottom & there was rust around the hinges. A bit of paint would have gone a long way to improve them as the floor was new-looking. The towels were paper-towel thin, but there was lots of good pressure & hot water for the shower. All-in-all, if you are not staying more than a night, it is fine. I wouldn't stay longer.

Listed as a 3 star hotel with free WiFi. Exterior and interior of hotel are run down. Rooms show signs of age, dusty smell--like an attic. There was a pubic hair when we pulled back the sheets on the bed upon arrival. The wifi signal was too weak to reach out room (the front desk mentioned that maintenance was working on it, but the issue was not resolve). The parking lot did not feel safe--plastered with signs warning that parking is at your own risk and denying any liability. This hotel needs its stars audited. After checking in and seeing the room, we cancelled the reservation and went to a different hotel. Now having a good experience.
Run down, outdated and dirty

Experience upon check-in: Got to room which was boiling hot because AC was off and curtain was open, sun streaming in. Discovered trash in wastebasket, wrinkled beds, burnt out lightbulb and phone didn't work. In lobby asked for a new room and didn't get one apology. In fact, they made it seem like an inconvenience, saying they were "totally booked". I totally doubt that. The walkways outside were dirty and sticky and we saw a huge cockroach. The signs everywhere to "watch your belongings" and "no alcohol" are not inviting. We were supposed to stay 2 nights, we only stayed one. Even that was too long. Not recommended.

This is not what I expected. The parking is painfully limited. Because of the way the hotel is designed if your room is upstairs and you can’t find a close spot then you could end up with a long trek. We had 5 bags and a sleepy child to walk with. The room smelled like smoke, the smoke detector has a plastic bag covering it, there was a dirty rag in the corner of the bathroom, and the bathroom fan doesn’t work. The room in general is jenky, dirty and old. The area is creepy and the parking lot is difficult to enter. If the photos represented the rooms more accurately I would have never stayed here. This should be a 2 star hotel max!

The quality of the hotel is correct, if you're Lucky enough not to get an older room. Services are good. However I was disappointed by the localisation, far from any interest point. To be considered when looking for a one-night-stop in LA

GuestHouse Inn & Suites is situated in Norwalk, a town beside Los Angeles. The room is large, with two big and comfortable beds, a coffee machine, but if you need a fridge, you have to rent one. The bathroom is large enough. The breakfast was a disappointment, for an European with souvenirs from European hotels.

Cons:Roaches were crawling on the wall. The people next door were very loud. When I called the front desk they wouldnt do anything about quieting them down.
Cons:Asked if I could check in half hour early, receptionist rudely said "No"...could have nicely explained why (i.e. room not ready, strict hotel policy, etc) Request that toilet be checked, ran all night and day. No one ever came by to fix.
Pros:I like that it was clean enough and it was big.
Cons:They didn't have soap, shampoo, and/or big towels just face towels.
Pros:I booked this hotel at last minuet and it was a great value. Even better, when I checked in, they upgraded me because the room I booked was all booked by other customers. The suite is very spacious. Bedroom, bathroom, small kitchen and a living room. It was basically 2 rooms combined into one.
Cons:The bed was uncomfortable. Woke up with a back ache. The sofa was also uncomfortable. And lastly, the walls are really thin.
